Network
There are two wireless and two wired networks available. The default is to use one of the wireless networks. The wired networks should be reserved for desktop computers, lab-computers (LabNET) or for users with a need for high performance network connection.
Never connect anything to the wired network without checking with IGVs IT-Staff first!
Wireless
SU
Open network but with a captive portal. After connect a web page should open where there is a choice of login in with your personal SU-credentils, or to use a guest account.
Be aware that you will need to login again after disconnect.
Eduroam
Best option is to setup Eduroam, as this will get you connected automatically and will work on all campuses worldwide as well as on many airports, railway stations etc, see Serviceportalen for setup.
You will need SWAMID1 or better to use Eduroam.
Guest Login
You can create guest account for someone else at Network for Guests. You will need to have SWAMID1 or better to do this. You can check your SWAMID level at Kontohantering.
Wired
Never connect anything to the wired network without checking with IGVs IT-Staff first!
We don't use DHCP, all addresses are static.
VPN
SU have two different VPN solutions.
- FortiNET
- For SUA ("Stockholm University Workplace") computers, at IGV only used by administration.
- WireGuard
- For all others. See here for more information and setup.
Ask IGV-IT staff if you want WireGuard on a Windows computer as that require some special setup.
